Step I: Preparing the Ground

A) Read and study Maahew 13:31-32. Offer a prayer for this meeting.

B) Discuss: 1: What guiding principles do you derive from the gospel passage, the baptismal covenant and your congregation's life which will help guide you in discerning how to use this gift? How do you feel about following these guiding principles? And 2: What will you need to set aside or shed to follow these guiding principles in deciding on a new mission opportunity? (You may want to use the same World Café we did at Diocesan Convention for this dialogue. It can be found in Mustard Seed Resources on the diocesan website.)

C) Prepare for next meeting: Have everyone begin thinking of mission projects which fit your guiding principles. Close with prayer.

Going Deeper – Assign a small group to interview leaders from your community to see what they feel the greatest needs are in your area.
